In this position, you continuously connect with existing and new clients in the European marketplace and seek out growth opportunities for all services of Intertek. By working with clients and attending industry events, you focus on achieving your revenue and margin targets. You build and maintain relationships with decision makers and influencers at medium to large international companies, often active in the polymer and automotive related polymer industry. You develop and implement client business plans and report sales and project activities against these plans and assure that your targets align with Intertek’s overall global strategic objectives.
In the day-to-day operation you are responsible for preparing quotations in close cooperation with our technical project leads and handle the commercial contract and negotiation process. By providing regular reports on client’s status, business development and expected bid outcomes, you manage your business and contribute to accurate forecast and outlooks. You deliver a high standard in maintaining customer relations and continuous aim to improvement with a drive for excellence. Fundamental to your success is making sure that all involved are well informed, priorities are clearly set and are aligned with the commercial and operational stake holders and teams. You liaise with others proactively, both inside and outside the global polymers group, to give and get information that keeps teams informed so that work is completed effectively. In this position you report to the Business Unit Manager.


  • A BSc to MSc level of thinking based on (a technical) education or work experience;
  • Proven sales and business development experience, ideally within the chemical or (automotive) polymer industry;
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, that enable you to network and build relationships with clients;
  • A natural business acumen, understanding both internal and external factors;
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills in English and German;
  • Analytical mindset and ability to clearly articulate thoughts;
  • Able to effectively manage workloads on multiple projects;
  • Result-driven and goal-oriented with a focus to deliver results;
  • Based (or willing to relocate) in the Netherlands, Belgium or Germany at a convenient distance from Geleen.
